Your Guarantee for Quality Wood Chips

PC-FLIS® (PC_Chips) is Trademark Protected

To use the name PC-FLIS®, (PC-Chips) the wood chips must be produced by a PC chipper equipped with a 360-degree screen system.

Chippers with an integrated 360-degree screen system produce high-quality wood chips, completely free of bothersome sticks and clumps. This makes PC-FLIS® (PC-Chips) suitable as fuel for stoker and pellet boilers, as well as for other applications such as bedding, where the extra fine quality of PC-FLIS® (PC-Chips) is crucial.

The term "pellet chips" is currently used for a wide range of chip sizes, which can be problematic when customers need to purchase chips. It can be difficult to see the difference until the chips are delivered, which can lead to issues with stoker or pellet boilers clogging.

To clarify the quality, we have trademarked the name PC-FLIS® in Denmark. This means that only the high-quality, stick and clump-free chips produced by a PC chipper with a 360-degree screen system can be called PC-FLIS®. Therefore, the designation PC-FLIS® (PC-Chips) ensures that wood chips meet stringent quality standards.

Offer Peace of Mind to Your Customers

If you use a PC chipper with a 360-degree screen system, you automatically get high quality and the right to use the designation PC-FLIS® (PC-Chips). That's fundamentally all it takes.

A PC chipper is a flexible machine that allows you to precisely control the quality of the chips. With the correct knife setting combined with the right screen size, you control the size of the largest chips that come out of the machine. If a piece of wood cannot pass through the screen, it is further broken down.

Complete Control

The core of a chipper is the screen, which cuts wood pieces into small chips. Therefore, chippers are configured with exactly the screen you need.

A commonly used setting is with a screen with a hole size of Ø30 mm combined with a knife height of 13 mm. This produces the quality designated as 'PC-FLIS® 30/13'. This means that when your customer orders 'PC-FLIS® 30/13', they get the chip size and quality that works for them.

As a supplier, this builds credibility for the chips you deliver. You can also add information such as the wood's moisture content in percentage and the final bulk density in kg/m3 to the PC-FLIS® designation to make the information complete.

Her vises eksempler på to af de mest almindelige typer PC-FLIS; PC-FLIS 23/10 og PC-FLIS 30/13.

HOW IS IT DESIGNATED?

THE SHORT WAY (AND MOST COMMON):

PC-FLIS® is mainly designated based on the size of the screen holes and the height of the knives. However, we recommend also mentioning the wood type.

The format is:

'PC-FLIS® screen size in mm / knife height'.

For example:

  • PC-FLIS® 30/13 is produced with a 30 mm screen mounted and 13 mm knife height.

  • PC-FLIS® 23/10 is produced with a 23 mm screen mounted and 10 mm knife height.

There are many screen sizes, and the knife height can be changed within the machine's limitations. The combinations are numerous.

THE LONG WAY:

To be more thorough, you can add more information to the PC-FLIS® designation. For example, the wood's moisture content in percentage can be measured with a moisture meter or by an evaporation test.

Bulk density can be measured by weighing, for example, a liter of chips and multiplying the weight by 1000; this gives you the bulk density in kg/m3.

The format is:

PC-FLIS® screen size in mm / knife height / wood moisture content in percentage / final bulk density in kg/m3'.

For example:

  • PC-FLIS® 30/13/22/317 is PC-FLIS® produced with a 30 mm screen mounted, 13 mm knife height, wood with 22% moisture content, and the final bulk density for PC-FLIS® is 317 kg/m3.

  • PC-FLIS® 23/10/20/300 is PC-FLIS® produced with a 23 mm screen mounted, 10 mm knife height, wood with 20% moisture content, and the final bulk density for PC-FLIS® is 300 kg/m3.

Above are examples of chips made with a selection of the countless setting options available with a PC chipper. With the right combination of screen size and knife height, PC-FLIS can be produced in designations from coarse "sawdust" and up in size.

Your Advantages as a Customer

When you purchase a 'PC chipper', you get the opportunity to use the PC-FLIS® trademark. This means you can use it in your advertising.

It provides peace of mind when customers know where to turn next time they need quality chips that won't cause problems in, for example, their boiler.
